The animation this episode was greatt!
Did not wanna point it out but Choji and Ino are not doing much here.
Kakashi and Shikamaru are stealing all the limelight as they should ♡

All because Shikamaru told them so! Beside Ino mind jutsu won't last long enough like Shikamaru's shadow jutsu. Also Ino has more focused on medical jutsu then mind jutsu. As for Choji his jutsu couldn't do much for figthing them on his own. The Akatsuki members have more advantage with all that elements jutsu, kinda immortal. They need to wait until plan of Shikamaru will take action & they can help when asked.

are they changing animators every ep lol? the quality of the intro fight was very good yet last ep was okay quality, also the one before that was perfect quality animation(the one where shikamaru grieved)

yeah they do this a lot, in old naruto look at ep 20, 30, 48, somewhere around 130 and a few others, people refer to them as FMV (full motion video) episodes, basically episodes where most of the budget goes, this happens way more in shippuden which is nice.

they basically have a B-team for fillers, A-team for most canon episodes, and an S-team for these FMV episodes.
